Located right in the middle of downtown Tahlequah, Norris Park is a real gem in the city park system. Like any good city park, it includes picnic areas with tables and a playground. Green Country Roots Festival
Norris Park is the venue for the yearly free music and arts festival called The Green Country Roots Festival. Entertainment will be provided by local comedians, dancers, poets, and writers. Norris Park is also where the Tahlequah Farmer’s Market sets up their sales booths during the summer months. Fruits and vegetables are offered according to season.
Movies in the Park
Movies in the Park is a fun summer activity sponsored by the Tahlequah Mainstreet Association. Saturdays during May through September, visitors can lay out a blanket under the stars or bring a lawn chair and enjoy a free movie.
Red Fern Festival
During the last weekend in April, Norris Park is the host of the Red Fern Festival. This event celebrates the famous coming-of-age novel “Where the Red Fern Grows” by Wilson Rawls.
