Entourage Effect

The common term used to describe multiple cannabinoids and terpenes interacting with the endocannabinoid system to create a synergy within the body. This means while CBD may not be able to address symptoms of every ailment, combining CBD with CBN, THC, and the various terpenes found in cannabis has a much higher likelihood of addressing a broad range of issues.

CBD is widely accepted to have anti inflammatory properties. In some cases CBD alone may not be enough on its own to address moderate to severe symptoms. Using a cultivar containing both CBD and beta caryophyllene which also has anti inflammatory properties may combine in the way they interact with the receptors of the endocannabinoid system that this combination has the potential to work better for those suffering from moderate to more severe symptoms.

The entourage effect can also be used in reference to the endocannabinoid system itself and how widespread within the body that it actually is. Th eCS is considered to be a very general system in charge of basic regulation of function within the entire body, meaning a healthy endocannabinoid system can contribute to an overall increase in general health.

The infographic to the left shows just a few of the systems it is believed the endocannabinoid system helps to regulate. Everything from the cardiovascular system, to the muscular and skeletal systems contain cannabinoid receptors.

This is one of the main reasons to consider well rounded cannabis preparations containing multiple cannabinoids and terpenes. This will ensure the maximum benefit is achieved when using cannabis medicinally.

While these statements have not been approved by the FDA, there are mountains of research that has been around for several years of peer review suggesting the legitimacy of the entourage effect and its benefits for general wellbeing. We are unable to advertise our products as meant to diagnose, treat or prevent any disease due to the federal stance of overlooking well documented and supported scientific research. For this reason I strongly encourage you to do your own research to determine your own opinion and stance on cannabis as a medicine. In 2018 57% of Oklahoman’s who voted in that election believe in the power of cannabis as a medicine, as well as the citizens of over 30 other states within the US. Now that cannabis prohibition has become a policy of the minority we are hopeful that federal regulators will soon begin to recognize the legitimate need for a federal medical marijuana program that is far more robust than the one that is currently available.
